The Future of Civil War History will feature over 120 speakers drawn from across the spectrum of the historical community, including David Blight, Mark Smith, Cathy Stanton, Ed Linenthal, Stephen Berry, Tiya Miles, and Kirk Savage. Almost every session (including field experiences, panels, and working groups) will bring together speakers from a wide range of backgrounds, i.e., museum work, historic preservation, digital humanities, K-12 teaching, public history, and university-based teaching/research.

A wide variety of site visits and field experiences will complement the discussion sessions, allowing participants ample opportunity to move the conversation outside the conference room and lecture hall. Space on the field experiences is limited and slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees may register for the field experiences when submitting their conference registration.
